Flyer :: Ragged Words

I love Ragged Words. It’s a simply-designed, well-maintained, fairly-balanced selection of local and international music features, with a new treat or two every day. Its contributors present an astute, friendly taste in music and do not hedge their best in favour of acceptable norms.
And so it is a great thing to see their first gig of the year at Pogo in the Twisted Pepper tomorrow night get off to a fine start with support from the tetchy trio Jogging and orbiting post-punks The Cast Of Cheers followed by a headline set from Hunter-Gatherer, whose December debut album RW deemed amongst the best of 2009. Other shows tomorrow night align quite nicely as it’s a late show and I’m really looking forward to winding the weekend out with that much extra live music.

My only gripe (the reason I held off publishing this post all week) is that flyer. Ahem, tbh I expected better from you guys and hoped a nicer effort would pop up sooner. But at least you have a flyer and deadly line-up so…of course you’re forgiven.

Check out the brand-new Cast of Cheers interview.

  1. Hey Naomi,

    Thanks so much for the kind words on our little site. Sorry I’ve only just spotted this post – spent the week with my Choice judges hat on buried in a certain 10 albums (hence things being a little slow on RW this week).

    Glad you liked the night too. I was actually in London myself as it was all organised quite last minute which brings me to the flyer… Hope you can forgive us but it had to have just been knocked up in a few minutes to, like you say, at least have one! Will have more time to spend on the next one and we’ve an exciting gig to announce in the next few days too. Will be sure to give you a heads up.

    Thanks again for the generous post.
