(No Ratings Yet)Aoife has the scathing backlash on Castle Palooza‘s cringeworthy model-fail. There is ONE, only one situation in which a music festival should be promoted with babes :: when Rubberbandits are around.
I’m totally with Aoife on the matter of using models to promote music events. The Ash/Republic of Loose concert thrown by 7 Up at ALT a couple of weeks ago was supposedly crammed with models and we’re all well-acquainted with Coors Lite and their bimbo brigade at launches. So it’s no surprise when Oxegen and Electric Picnic aim for the quick-print photocalls of burnished ladies prancing and posturing with tickets. Castle Palooza though, I’d be mortified in Cherrycool HQ. Over the years you’ve brought some great names and nights to Charleville Castle, providing a really fun, enjoyable atmosphere to relax for a weekend. Times may be tough but there are more than enough graphic designers and audiovisual companies out there to lend a hand if you’re short of ideas. They’re gonna have to try a lot harder on the creative incentive front if they honestly expect folks to shell out €99 a ticket.

Do people actually buy tickets to this I wonder.. Everyone I know who has been to this in past years have gotten in for free and all say they are glad they did not pay for it. Lots of my mates won tickets through competitions. It’s almost instant win. Try it! 99 euro is ridiculous when you consider transport to this really out of the way venue.
