Wow, how’d you like all the lists pouring out with the best albums, songs and EPs of 2010? There’s been so many great results and they’re really enjoyable to follow this year for some reason…maybe because all the music was so good, there’s very little bitching about brilliant records being left out.
I just thought I’d run through some of the great stuff that’s been going on, in case you missed anything.

Super-special shouts to Ronan at Swear I’m Not Paul for a great deal of effort and attention to detail, not only in the mammoth Listen To Every Irish Album of 2010 post but also the aggregated table of Irish bands who’ve placed in end-of-year lists. Along with Ragged Words, he’s also been inviting Irish artists to discuss their favourite albums of the year. Really good stuff.

Nominations for the Digital Socket Awards close tomorrow at 9pm, so if you haven’t already named your favourite music of the year, get to it! The fourteen-category longlist will be published on Thursday and after a short Christmas break, 26 blogger judges will face the challenge of discerning the ultimate best contenders of Irish music in 2010. www.digitalsocketawards.com.
