News :: Two Million Days

At the risk of upsetting a few people, I have to point out that today is the longest day of the year. Slowly the days are going to start getting darker…yeah. Sorry about that.

On the upside however, we have a beautiful new song from twomilliondaysPlutus, which if I’m not mistaken is named after the Greek god of wealth. At 11:19, I think it’s the longest track he’s uploaded so far.

It’s been a while listening to this young Galway-based musician and I can really hear where he’s developing with experimentation, exploring rhythms and tempo, ambient and minimal aspects of music with some really lovely instrumental and sampled sounds. A student of human rights and equality law, listening over the full set of tracks on Soundcloud you can tell by the titles that he cares deeply about the world we live in. Although none of the tracks are available to download if you like what you hear it should please you to know there are plans for a physical release on a label in the autumn followed by an independent, large-catalogue digital release. Perhaps then we can hope for live shows too: won’t be a day too soon.
