[fap_default_playlist id="3013"]Have you been following Large Mound this year? They’ve been releasing a new song each month for Another Year Of Rock and have now passed the halfway-point of 2011 with six fantastic rock songs. Ian Lawton of Reasonably Shorts made this video with the Mound’s vocalist and guitarist Anthony Mackey as an electronic press kit, examining how and why they went about releasing this way.
Each month the new song seems better than the ones that came before. I propped up the deadly video for Stepmaster which is the shortest AYOR track yet. They’re experimenting with what they can do – we’ve seen them mix it up, co-writing, lengthening, concentrating, choosing different people to work with from engineers in the studio to graphic designers for the artwork and also exercising some flexibility in how they release the tracks with some being free, others at a fixed fee, name your price, pay what you like…the single element of consistency is a new track on the 25th of each month come hell, high water or Christmas Day.
You can check out all the songs from Another Year Of Rock on the Large Mound Bandcamp page.
