Lots of news from the four musical androids known as Le Galaxie, starting with a headline, free-admission show at the Button Factory on 23 September with a stellar bill of support acts. The UK’s noise rock trio Three Trapped Tigers will finally get to prowl an Irish stage along with their mates Seams, while Diamond Dagger will return after a super set at Castle Palooza, along with the deadly Nanobot.
In other news, Le Galaxie are well and truly making 2011 their year with the announcement this week that they will be playing Electric Picnic at 1.30 pm on Saturday 3 September in the Electric Arena, which is the second-biggest stage on the Stradbally grounds and make no bones about it, will be the ultimate kickstart to get the rest of the day off to a glowing start. They then travel to Popkomm in Berlin the following weekend to impress “important decision makers and media”.
As if that’s not enough, the band have revealed plans to release their debut album Laserdisc Nights 2 on CD after a successful digital launch in June. And there’ll also be a release of Powers of Miami as a single in the autumn. I can feel the buzz on the skyline!
Stream or buy Laserdisc Nights 2 on Bandcamp.
