Free Music :: Luke B

Free music today comes from DJ and hip hop beatmaker Luke B who’s just released the DJ Dweeb Beat Tape Vol. 1 on the Loud Mouth Collective. Having fallen in love with sampling music as a teen, Luke Broughton stepped up his game on purchasing an Akai MPC sampler in early in 2009 and now uses the MPC in his regular DJ sets around Dublin.

The Beat-Tape Volume 1 is a selection of clean cut hip-hop productions from LUKE-B’s vault of tracks. All of his beats have been crafted on an Akai MPC 2500 over the past year and most of the samples are sourced from vinyl purchased in Dublin’s remaining record stores. The Beat Tape Volume One runs for just under twenty minutes and features seventeen tracks, including ‘New Era’ the hit track from the Loud Mouth Compilation Volume 1.

Launched tonight at Scribble in the Bernard Shaw, the Beat Tape Volume 1 will feature a DJ set and live MPC routine from Luke B as well as some funk and soul from Large Mouth Collective’s DJ Sam K aka Intuitive Travels In Sound. Doors are 8pm and admission is zero cash monies.
