This is beautiful: a photo of Iarla Ó Lionáird taken at the finale of the Other Voices show in New York last week.

It was taken by Jacob Blickenstaff and there are two more on his blog, Glen Hansard, Damien Rice and Martha Wainwright and Thomas Bartlett. I saw the pics this morning thanks to a tweet from Entertainment Architects.

Curated by Glen Hansard (The Swell Season play the Pepper Canister Church in Dublin 2 tonight), Other Voices relocated to New York City for a two-day celebration of the show’s ten-year anniversary. Along with music, there were readings from celebrated authors and the line-up was spectacular – check out the flyer below.

Proceeds from the ticket sales went to Roddy Doyle’s Fighting Words Creative Writing Centre here in Dublin, which is an especially sweet point to note that at Other Voices‘ decade mark, it continues to further the reach of words and music from one generation to another.
