It’s a lovely album that speeds through its half-hour playing time in a flash of eight numbers that move through a range of styles and musical colours, quite the world away from Goodtime’s earlier work I first heard.You can read a little bit about John Cowhie’s thoughts around the writing and recording process on the album stream post.
The Colours of Darkness is launched this Friday in the Grand Social with support from Angkorwat and Bill Blood (50% of VisionAir). To win a pair of tix, just send an email with your name and ‘Goodtime’ in the subject field and random.org will pluck a winner. Competition closes at 3pm on Friday afternoon (2 December, obvs).
