Gigs for Goodtime this weekend at Bourke’s Bar in Limerick on Friday and Dublin’s Unitarian church this Saturday. With the songs from The Colour Of Darkness standing out since the album’s release in November it’s the perfect time to hear them live and these two venues are certainly contrasting in difference. Bourke’s Bar is quite cosy I’m told so if performed solo or stripped down the intimacy and ambience could make the Goodtime, Somadrone and I Am The Cosmos’ sets very special.
Si Schroeder’s appearances have been scarce the past while but we did hear a glimpse of new material in Jump Ship not too long ago, so opening for Goodtime under the big loud roof will hopefully bid a welcome return to live gigs. As a venue the Unitarian has begun to really gain some ground there on the corner of Stephen’s Green with several notable concerts in recent months including Delorentos, Halves and Somadrone, the unusual atmosphere tinting the performances with a feel of the place. After seeing many music videos but not yet having been there for a gig, I’m looking forward to this show for a while now. Hope the acoustics don’t meddle too much with those lovely songs.

Goodtime on Twitter and Facebook.
