(No Ratings Yet)With a topping line-up, Popical Island‘s monthly Popicalia gig is back, bringing with it the label’s latest signing, the cute-as-a-Button EP and its band, Dott. Also on the bill are new band The #1s, and the inimitable cheeky, chunky funk of Tieranniesaur, all in a new venue: Doran’s on the Green.
It’s pop, just as we know it, but don’t be suprised to think there may be some hidden depths here: Anna’s old band Blasterbra were more inclined towards punk. As heard above (in the video by the always-fine Tiny Epics), Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall In Love) will banish the glums, raise your spirits, lift your eyes, embolden your heart and part your lips to sing along all day to that super-catchy chorus. And there’s more: three more in fact: the Button EP was just released yesterday and with big roomy tunes that shine with harmonies, it’s sounding right at home on Popical Island. I wasn’t at Camden Crawl last weekend so am really stoked to hear just how it all translates live but I’ve a hunch they won’t disappoint.
