Some bands adapt well to the Internet, some bands find the Internet has to adapt to them: Large Mound and the Spook of the Thirteenth Lock are two examples where this seems correct. Tonight they perform in the Odessa Club on Dame Court and it will probably prove to be the rockers’ most well-upholstered and comfortable gig of the year.
Large Mound, after completing their fifth album Another Year Of Rock with 12 excellent singles in 2011, are assembling tonight for a last show with guitarist Mark Jordan. I doubt they’re the types to ever sob into the mic but to soften this blow, the band have promised free CDs to those in attendance. And the particularly juicy bait of Spook of the Thirteenth Lock as support: “so you will get to see them too and find out what all the fuss is about”.
They’re too modest really. Large Mound don’t make fuss but they do make great rock songs.
Admission is €10, runs til late.
