Video :: Anderson

Yesterday Villagers tweeted that the new Anderson song was stuck in his head. This morning this video for Patterns showed up on my feed, and of course my curiosity was piqued after the ringing endorsement from Conor O’Brien. It came as something as a surprise to see the face of Danny Anderson who some may recognise as the singer of The Rags from a ways back. Now his songwriting talents have brought him back to the forefront once again, in the simpler and reflective form of Anderson.

The song really is good. His voice sounds impressively clear, pleasant and strong and the music itself is lovely, especially the piano, and ukelele which ordinarily is not an instrument I’m fond of. The video is really nicely done too, clean and sharp with natural, candid imagery much like the energy of the track. This sally towards a new course of action is a promising start, here’s hoping he’s been busy writing for the last few years and there’s still a lot more to follow.

Patterns is released as a 7″ in October with another song, History, and is available to pre-order now for €10, a bundle which comes with the vinyl alongside an extra track, CD and digital download.
