Feast your eyes on the spectacle of nature, through the medium of music by way of the marvels of technology. It’s BATS, baying as a pack in the wilds of Connemara, back with the first single Wolfwrangler from their second album The Sleep Of Reason which is released on 20 October.

If you ever wondered how humans know which berries are poisonous, which bugs are good for protein and where to find them, what led us to discover that lichens can be edible, that moss burns, rocks cut and flint sparks, water cures and seas kill, well, none of it started with Ray Mears, any more than the taste for meat began with Stanley Kubrick’s magnificent hominid dancers. Such discoveries began long before records can show but one thing is certain, that similar scenes of fighting and pain accompanied these steps towards adaptation, evolution and survival.

Wolfwrangler is the first live-action official music video released by BATS. The Sleep Of Reason is the final release on the Richter Collective record label. There’s something sad and yet fitting about the cyclic nature there. The album launches at Whelans on 20 October with support from No Spill Blood and Turning Down Sex.
