A new single from Somadrone called Pulse of Joy will have a live airing on 30 November, upstairs in Whelans.

I wasn’t aware that the video or track had been released yet and only saw it an hour ago. David Kitt provided the vocal, while Neil O’Connor – synthmeister Somadrone himself – is responsible for the sweet electronic dreaminess that seems to flee, then embrace, then flee…it’s a beautiful piece of work and a very exciting glimpse of the new, fourth Somadrone album The First Wave.

As you can see above, the line-up for the launch show is a stunner. Somadrone isn’t ordinarily resident in Ireland, spending a lot of time in the US, so it’s definitely worth coming along to this rare live show. Also on the bill are Spilly Walker (David & Robbie Kitt), Sunken Foal and Simon Bird. That’s a heap of legends for a tenner. Promoter-props to Skinny Wolves.

Pulse of Joy is free to download from Scintilla Records via Bandcamp now.
