Twin to the UK’s Latitude, last week a new three-day, curfewed festival Longitude was announced by MCD. Set in the grounds of Marlay Park in south Dublin, Longitude is well able to take on any competition, with what’s considered to be the best international line-up we’ll see in Ireland this year.

Music fans all over the country have expressed satisfaction with the line-up: the most immediately arresting name on the list is Kraftwerk, in the form of a 3D concert that will see the German electronic pioneers come to big-stage live via the marvels of technology. Yeah Yeah Yeahs are another scoop, while homegrown names on the bill include Villagers, Mmoths and Young Wonder.
